Rear wiper washer - does not stop sparing liquid

I had a strange issue yesterday. I opened boot and placed a pram and close the door. Then rear wiper washer jet started spraying the washer liquid.
It did not stop until the washed liquid tank drained completely

I tried pressing and releasing the washer jet button below the steering, stopping the car etc, but no use. After washer liquid was drained, I could still hear the motor was spinning.

Finally I removed fuse 81 from boot, that stopped this motor. I filled liquid and I use to wash front windscreen.

Does anyone has experience fixing rear washer jet?

Any ideas what might have went wrong?

Thanks in advance
Kishore

The "jet" is just an orifice at the end of a tube/hose that concentrates the washer fluid to spray a particular point on the glass...it has no electrical or mechanical workings

If the only way to get it to stop was to pull the fuse...i'd look at the pump for the tailgate and unplug the electrical harness to it. You could also switch the front and rear pumps to see if there's an issue with the rear pump. They sit right next to each other and are identical on the washer tank.

See image below for location of pumps...and they are only secured to the tank by compression...they pop out if you pull on them correctly:

This happened to me last winter. The rear wiper motor has likely had a failure. Not too savy when it comes to items on a circuit board but one of the items burns out and when you pop the cover off you will likely see it. I had to replace the motor with one I sourced from ebay.

Thanks for reply. For me wiper is working fine. No problem, even without the washer jet.

Dear Qsilver7, thanks for pictures and reply. Do you think it is nothing to do with the control switch. I mean one under the steering wheel. Front washer jet is working fine of course. Let me follow your advise. I will swap the front and rear washer pumps and put the fuse back and check.

I swaped the washer pumps and it is of no use. Now rear wiper also stopped working. Is it wiper motor. Does this motor also control spring of washer liquid.

How difficult is to change rear wiper motor?
