Federal Emissions Warranty

Hey All -

Had the "Engine Malfunction" warning go off on my X35D, I brought it to my local BMW shop that I normally have service my X35D since the factory warranty is now expired. They said that the Active Reservoir needed to be replaced and it should be covered under the Federal Emissions Warranty (8yr/80k).

I brought it to the dealership service and they said they have never heard of this warranty before. I provided them with the BMWUSA manual which clearly identifies that BMW honors the warranty along with a list of parts that are covered under this warranty.

They said they would research it and I'm still waiting to hear back...

My Question:
Is the Active Reservoir covered under the Federal Emissions Warranty since it is part of the DEF system of my diesel?

To replace they quoted $1650

Here's a link to a copy of the warranty pages 31-34 state what is covered, but I need some help identifying if what the dealership is saying is actually covered. Thanks in advance!
