Reverse cam is just so bad

I've had my e70 (4.8i sport, 2009) well over 3 months now and without a doubt, I love it.
But that reverse cam... Just so bad. My friend's Hyundai has a way clearer cam.

Anyone here managed to get a better cam installed? Is there a way to get it done as a "DIY " thing?

Pardon me if this issue has been spoken of earlier, but I couldn't go through all the threads here regarding the reverse cam.

Cheers

I was looking into it and so far no progress. When I have some time I want to take it off and see if there's some possibility to swap just camera in that unit. Will see...

Did you replace your existing one or just install that eBay one?

I DIY'ed by cleaning the lens and re-tweaking the brightness and contrast. Better to want (and care for) what you have than have whatever you want. IOW don't fix what ain't broke lest you fix until broke.

I don't find it too bad, in daytime it does the job of showing you where to go but at night it is rubbish, I put on some LED licence plate lights which did help a little bit when it's dark out, link to a thread I mentioned it in.

Right words

But still, everybody wants something better from what they have, like NBT over CIC

I just installed one in one of the license plate light slots. I will be changing it to the hatch handle version soon (I just received it).

I'm going for the led lights tomorrow ... I just thought the cam could be replaced with a better one.
I'm looking into the Alpine topview mod ... Seems pretty good!
