2008 X5 3.0 Long crank - crankshaft sensor?

Yesterday I was at the mall in my wife's 08 X5.
Went to go home, and after a very long crank (think 3 Mississippi) it fired then stalled. Followed by the same long crank.

Pulled these errors codes from it. Seems to be classic crankshaft sensor based on research from this forum. You guys agree?

That is a hack job towing the car!

Running straps in the wheel is improper...most tow guys are quite bad.

Here is how it is SUPPOSED to be done:

The tire is held down, the forces in the wheel are distributed- no wheel damage...

Had this happen to me on my old E46 330, only when the motor was warm. It was the crank shaft sensor...

Honestly, I've seen it done many ways.

But I'm really struggling with what car that is?

Ive seen morons use snatch hooks onto the spokes of an aftermarket rim... doesnt make it proper.

There are a few specific and undeniable reasons to not lash into an alloy rim- it isnt a 'well some people do it one way or another'....and I am NOT blaming you, you were at the mercy of the expert tow operator

I just did a google image search to show everyone how to properly lash a wheel. I have NO idea what car that is...

As you can see each wheel is retained fore and aft... AND, importantly, the strap is outside the body profile, so it cannot rub on the fender liner, spoiler lip, or other body parts.

On an X5 this is less of an issue, due to the height- but on lower cars it is impossible. On your car, as the truck bounces along your front spoiler was probably bouncing onto the strap.

Tip: If ever getting towed, TAKE PICTURES of the car when it is fully loaded- close up details of any area you think might be trouble later. A picture is worth...well.. potentially, a lot.
