well, my wife was basically picking me up at our business, as I am heading out, I sedan blocks her, and 3 armed men hold her up, asking her to get out of the car, they are wearing ski masks, we made out an ak47, and a M16 (from the lead we recovered). They are yelling police! police! and, for all we care, they could have been. when I saw all this I pulled out my glock17, (instinct I guess), I could not shoot at them (my wife is in the car), so when on the men gets in the car, I decided to fire one round, and ran and hid behind a tire of an f150 , about 20 meters away, right after my shot all I could see was dust, they did not know exactly where I was, so they just fired, and the next second they took off, with my wife's car, with her in it.
I would like to think that since it did not go quietly they decided to drop her 15-20 minutes later. When I called the cops, they had already received calls about the shooting. We never recovered the car (2010 Ford Edge). not that we wanted it anyways. It might have been for a ransom, it might have been only for the car, either way, victim usually ended up dead on those days. So I took my chances. :/

Well she was very lucky, maybe it worked out that you didnt shoot one of them. They could have taken revenge. I see videos online of this sort of thing, no wonder everyone carries around that part of the world.

Wow man, I can only say glad that your wife and you were unharmed. I personally feel that guns rarely help, glad that none of those 42 shots they fired hit anyone. Just my personal opinion though.

It works now, thats crazy! Yeah glad nobody was physically hurt.
If the bad guys have guns and you dont, in this situation you cant do anything but watch or run up to them and get shot. Having a gun somewhat levels the playing field (not that much in this situation against multiple men with AKs) but your one shot made them wrap up their assault and flee so im for guns for sure, as long as the person knows when and how to use it in a situation and when to run away.

Crazy.
I have a friend that lived in a country like that for 5 years. His wife and family lived elsewhere. Kidnappers would grab one kid, call all the others on their cell phone list..grab them up..sell them back He banked enough and left. His tactic was to drive a POS car, something nobody would look at. He would change cars every few months. He was a physician.
