I replaced all my vacuum lines on my 2011 35d and had to remove the intake manifold. It's actually very straight forward however just know there are a couple connection on the backside you'll need to disconnect first.

Remove the intake manifold. Its not hard, and there is an excellent write up on how to do it on one of these forums

Thanks. I think I found the intake DIY here http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...low-plugs.html
In the DIY pictures, I can see a couple of the vacuum hoses running towards the back of the engine. Can I get to their termination points once the intake is off? Also, my engine bay partition parts are broken and will be replaced. Is the intake easier to get off with the drivers side partition removed? Is so I will wait for more parts (intake gaskets) to arrive before I change the partitions.thanks
