blue dragon will become famous soon enough
The FRM which controls the power to the lighting has shut the circuit down if the wires were frayed and shorted. You will need the dealer or a coder to reset it

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info blue dragon!! You're insanely knowledgable about these vehicles and seems like you contribute to nearly every question asked. Your awesome for doing so and the wisdom you've aquired is greatly appreciated by those of us that are still newbies and are going through the growing pains of the E70 experience.

Probably still should at least use electric tape to cover the frayed wires so it doesn't happen again. Still waiting on a pic if you want help w/the parts for replacing either the socket portion or wiring pin into the plug etc, what part of HTX are you in?

Well unfortunately the ride is still at the dealership having warranty work completed (timing belt gasket & the oil pressure sensor), so that's why I haven't provided pics yet. But to describe it, the 2 wires from the male connector of the E70 that you plug the bulb into looks like someone pulled on it to hard which caused approx a half inch of both wires to be exposed. I figured once tucked into the housing they more than likely touched each other which caused the issue, but I'm no mechanic so that's just what I've narrowed it down to after checking all the fuses and put a meter on both headlights. Like I mentioned before, the driver side daytime running light (that works) showed power going to it. The passenger side (that isn't working) showed no power running to it when the meter was applied. I saw this on ebay (and some other sites as well) and was curious if this is something I will need to purchase before I attempt to have someone reset the FRM for me? 2 x H8 Male Pigtail Ceramic Headlight Fog Light Connector Plug Adapter Socket | eBay

Am I heading in the right direction? Or is it not needed?

As long as it fits your light socket/plug...sure why not...simple cut your existing wires and crimp this set in it's place.
