You need ISTA/P for this or WINFKP.
Either way you HAVE to use a power supply (50 amps or so) that provides 14v continuous power.

ISTA/P in Expert Mode and exclude radio etc. But if you do transmission, you will have to do CAS/DME/DDE too.
You can use a modified copy of ISTA/P to use K+DCAN cables. Make sure you get a very good quality cable and not the usual 20 bucks ebay cable.

Many people did that themselves not using power supply and cheap cables and ending up with a huge paper holder on their driveway with a car they could not even start anymore.

IF you are not confident, just ask any BMW specialist to do that for you. Or the dealer. They all have the proper tools and training for this.
