Also, is there any advantage or disadvantage to the year of the combox? I’ve seen 2010 to 2013, are they all capable of potentially the same functionality? Or did the later years BMW remove some functionality? Sorry for all the questions, I’m trying to get my head around the details.

Can anyone please identify this black box ? BlueTooth?
I only seem to have these two boxes , unless another is located somewhere else in the X5?
