Good to hear most all of this is covered for you.

How many miles are on this? Seems like a lot of suspension wear and odd problems.

Seems to be how things go, at least in my world.

But it does feel strange that your T-Case may need replacement with such low mileage.

The lead tech mentioned he had seen a few go bad lately, he wanted to change the fluid first but then said only about 40% of the time it fixes it.

havent been to Braman, this is South Motors, not bad service but it seems like the techs are not very switched on.

Makes sense. I suppose it depends on how much wear has taken place.

I've had my '11 X5D for about 6 months. The rear diff and t-case are the only fluids that have not been changed since taking ownership. I'm closing in on 114k.

My mom has a 2007 E83. She was told the transfer case was "shot" by the dealer. It runs just fine, and sure seems to be working properly. My brother took it out to gas up for her last week in the snow, and even on well worn all season tires, he said it had better traction than his F-150 in 4x4 w/ snow tires. I'm tempted to do a fluid change on her t-case to see if performance changes, but I'd rather not be on the hook if it does.

Seems low on miles for this but if e70 same as e53, both of our e53 need the rear subframe mounts replaced and that causes very much the # 3 symptom. When I notice the most is hitting expansion joint under light acceleration. The acceleration torques the subframe tight until I hit the bump then momentarily the bushing floats and re-connects with a thump.

I'd want to see where an approved BMW service procedure states 'change fluid' to deal with that complaint....

Whatever. IME it wont fix it...

My 2010 X5 35d has a rumble on tight turns under power at slow speeds the dealer says the chain slipping, how difficult will it be to replace the chain. Is there a post describing how to remove and replace the TC. Rebuilt TC are available for about $1000 to 1500. I have replaced transmission on a rear drive car and also replaced the differential. How much more difficult will it be to take out the replace the TC.

Im not sure about the chain 'slipping'. Could be slapping?

Anyway, for the ATC700, found this:
BMW X5 E70 O.E.M. S-Tec ATC700 Transfer box chain , 2006 >2010 models
