3.5D blowing off intercooler outlet hose

I've been fighting this one recently since I installed a replacement

I don't get a great feeling or click buy there looks to be no gap

Anyone have any ideas or advise on how to make the thing click in?

#12 here?: RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog

Top or bottom of the hose?
I am assuming OEM replacement?

I am reinstalling my intercooler tomorrow after washing it today. Will see how it goes.

Correct.

Seems like that locking collar doesn't snap dispute the two flanges touching.

It has been a few months but I think the inner flange ends up inside the outer one. Flanges touching may not be all the way in. I had to lie on my back so I could get one hand on each side of the red hose. I then had to pull down and twist a little at the same time. It was very satisfying when it finally clicked in.

You could also remove the IC and test fit to be sure. May as well change the red post hose gaskets if you have not done it already.

Today was putting the red hose back in place.
The bottom clip did not want to click in place. So, needed to be pushed in on both sides of the pipe with a large flat head screwdriver.
Then, it did a confident click on each side of the pipe.

I should have replied but I believe that part of my project is fixed.

I removed the intercooler and the pipes and made several alignment marks after I snapped them together on the floor.

Seems that even 5 degrees out of phase was a major issue!

Now to identify the latest CELs..

Upper portion of the red hose blew off today. Was taking a turn uphill from stop, so had to punch the pedal a bit.
The red hose was popped off and to the side, so no air was forced into intercooler.
Popped back in without don't anything to the clip. Drove fine after, with light foot on pedal of course.
Will look once get back home.

I had that a few times.. Got to be careful on the other side. When the bottom blows off it goes into the fan belts.. Expensive $300 mistake

So, addressed the red hose yesterday.
Took it off completely, took a closer look at the clip.
Turns out, the clip was not symmetrical anymore (either due to blowing off, or earlier).
With pliers, bent it into proper shape while testing for nice fit on the pipe. Had to make
Put it back in and it made a nice click.

Rubber seal was lost though - ordered new one. So, it has to come off again, in addition to me having to look into intercooler in case the old rubber ring is in there.
But now, I can do this thing blindfolded.
