I've enjoyed your posts. You lucked out with the air springs. I wish I would have found some for that low.

Any issues since your last post? Still running good?

At almost 148k miles now. Had one little issue with an SES light, but my tuner confirmed it was just a little bug and sent me another update to fix it.

I’ve switched off of OE oil to Rotella now. About halfway through an oil change and the oil consumption seems to be a little less. And the engine is just a little quieter.

I think I need to do the mechatronic gaskets and sleeves in my transmission. I occasionally get a funky shift, but nothing really alarming so far.

Well over 150k miles now.

Had an issue with water intrusion frying my hatch module. Otherwise we are just soldiering on.

Engine Foam

Any comments there would be appreciated.

Then again, it might just be mouse piss:

I see the degraded foam on the engine in your picture. Did you replace it? Were you also able to replace the foam on the Engine Cover? I need to replace mine and need to find a way to replace it.

I’m still using the same foam. Many run without it.

The foam is a NVH abatement item, right?

Our X5 now has 170k miles on it. Roughly 45k since deleted.

Replaced the motor mounts about a week ago. That helped NVH at idle quite a lot. They weren’t as bad as some I’ve seen, but definitely due. Still need to due the trans mount.

Made a trip to the beach and back this past weekend. 800+ miles round trip with no issues at all.

Bought a Chinese hatch module off eBay for $195 to fix this. It was plug and play with no issues or coding.

How difficult was the job? I saw in the directions for dpf removal, the bolts for the mount there is quite difficult to get to. Did you do it on stands or a lift?
