Slight frustration continues. Now SES came on this morning, P0638 and P2621

Guess I need a new Throttle Body?!? (P2621 Throttle position , output signal - circuit low - Page 2 - Bimmerfest - BMW Forums)

Vehicle drove great the first week, let it sit for a week while on vacation. Now, no comfort access, bluetooth, radio, PDC and now these two codes popped up...While I haven't had to dump any money into it (yet), still frustrating to see after one week of ownership being bought from the dealership.

Did you just read P codes or are you running factory software and test plans?

Useless to read P codes - need something that gives more details and a test plan

Update: 2 weeks at the dealership

Instead of writing a book ill just summarize by saying we had a terrible dealership service experience. A lot of miscommunication, misdiagnosis and overall length it took to have everything done. In the end two comfort access door handles needed to be replaced, throttle body assembly, emissions, and fuel filter service was complete. Only item we paid for was the throttle body assembly part/labor and that was discounted as well. In the end everything worked out but it took literally 2 weeks to have everything squared away.

The electrical issue ended up being those two faulty CAS door handles which apparently threw the entire electrical system off. Pretty sure it blew the fuses to those other components because the amp was replaced two days prior to purchase.

Throttle body fault was the actual assembly that needed to be replaced. I looked up the DIY and it seemed fairly straight forward but the vehicle was already there 2 weeks, and they discounted the part & labor because the entire ordeal we had. So at least we get 2 yr dealer warranty out of it.

Fuel filter service was done as goodwill because I looked through the entire service records (and this vehicle was only serviced at this dealership) and couldn't find the filter being replaced. Factory warranty manual says it should be replaced after the 2nd oil service for 35d. So again I looked up the DIY and it seemed fairly straight forward but the vehicle was already there 2 weeks after the misdiagnosis ordeal, electrical issue and not being able to source the records - it was done by the dealership. So at least we get 2 yr dealer warranty out of it as well.

I have had to replace my Throttle Body due to blow by oil mixed with soot getting past the TB shaft and shorting out the circuit board in the TB. I opened the cover on the side of the TH and it was 1/2 full of oil. I have all the stuff for the oil catch can mod and plan to do that.

Yup, I've seen people just clean them out and re-install it. Or simply replacing it, it's only held in by 3 or 4 hex bolts and a electrical harness. Accessing the bolts are a different story...

I may be interested oil catch can modification, can you supply the links or information on this?

Oil service - Complete

- Old oil was very dark! A lot darker then when I service my M5. Filter was pretty hard to get off as well. Love the love 17mm oil pan bolt and the fact that it's facing directly down. Love the dipstick as well to check the level.

Cabin Filter replace - Complete

- Very easy to do. Took maybe 3 minutes.

Air recirculation - Complete

- This would up taking a lot longer than expected. I messed up and took out two 20 torx screws that held some semi-round part. Took me a while to get it all back together.
