DPF end of life calculation is just that. It is coded function in the Kombi which is set to approx. 250,000 km. A replacement reminder message is display, but no risk of no start or reduced performance.
If you are not getting DPF specific faults - then this can be reset (marking DPF as replaced) using ISTA or a Tool32 job.
Make sure your engine thermostat has been replaced and the engine is running up to full temp. There are many other threads on this.

Yes, I have installed new water pump and thermostat within the last 10,000 miles. Up to 641 total regenerations so far.
Just wanted to make sure the dpf message/warning wouldn't be a check engine light.

Well I just got my first iDrive warning this morning. Car's running fine, but right at 250,000 KM (156,000 miles).

Will look around for information on ISTA and Tool32 - the links in the thread for iCarly aren't very good for some reason.

Any reports of success would be appreciated!
