Are you running with re-circulation on?

Mine has been deleted and stinks bad when the AC isn't on and when re-circulation isn't running... also take a look at your engine partitions. If those are broken from age, replace them to keep water out and also, for me, it helped create a better seal and I don't get too much stink inside the cabin anymore.

Recirculaton helps thats the only solution. I think I am also missing a heat shield as I see some parts of the shield with holes where possibly a shield attached.

looking at realoem but I can't seem to figure it out. I am refering to the brake line heat shield it might help.

frankly looking at the entire engine there is oil in a lot of different places that could cause the stink as well. I don't think it's particular to this car. I think it comes with diesel cars.

Yeah - your not special in this case!

I've been trying to "fix" the smell since it was delete (and even before) - time to just get use to it. I don't mind it much, mostly everyone else that is around.

I did learn.. not to reverse into my own smoke cloud esp in the mornings plus side

the greatest benefit is being able to somoke out tail gaters with a swift press of the accelerator
