Right now I am running 20's and 275/40-20's. Was considering 275/45-20's. I have spacers in back so it looks staggered from the side. I don't need any more traction at all, so no need to go wider.

I did something similar to your split the difference on width on my old e46 330i where i ran 235/45/17s on it (with the narrower lighter front wheels on all 4 corners) instead of a 225/245 staggered setup. I recently put ebay fender flares on my x5 just to catch any mud from offsetting the wheels outward by another 20mm. The one thing that I noticed was that the rear flare is much wider than the front.... With the same front and rear wheels the tire is much farther inside of the rear flare. Overall this is fine for me so that the rear doesn't throw any stones at my fenders but people that are going for looks might want to space the rears out to match if they add flares. -Rich Last edited by rbryantaz; 08-29-2018 at 03:27 AM. |

07 4.8i larger tire size fender liner fix
Here is a pic where I lost some fins and added some mesh to take its place on the fender liner grille when running the 265/60/18 setup.
The missing fins were mostly auto-removed by the tire when backing up at full lock. The two outer most fins were trimmed slightly with a utility knife. They could have been removed but I find it best to cut later rather than now if needed. ![]() I just used some short screws to attach the honeycomb mesh to the back side where it won't have a clearance issue and will still stop foreign objects from coming off from the tire and hitting the cooler behind the grill. I probably should have taken a picture of the back side too. If I take the wheel off sometime I will pull the grill and take a picture. -Rich Last edited by rbryantaz; 10-17-2019 at 04:59 PM. |

I am running 20’s that are not staggered. Right now I have 275/40-20’s and they ride nice. (Non-runflat). I didn’t want to go super wide to maintain mpg. It’s a street car, daily driver, and and SUV so wider is not needed. I want to try to go taller, but no one seems to know how tall you can go before rubbing things, esp if you are lowered like I am.

rbryantaz - Are you running a 265/65/18 or 265/60/18 tires? I thought I saw you mention you had the 60 series tires in another post. |

Correction: What do you think it would take to get a 265/65/18 (31.5") to fit? Seems like maybe a 1.5-2" hub spacer? Last edited by userX; 10-30-2019 at 09:11 PM. |

A wheel spacer in in the front is all it takes.
