Over the last 15 years Ive seen a TON of 'ebox fan' codes, dont think any one ever did anything other than set a code. In other words, ive not seen a bad fan leading to DME/DDE errors.

But. Easy enough to fix.

Shorted wires on a bus can be insidious- data gets corrupted, messages scrambled- the errors you see can be all over the place. seemingly unrelated errors. And changeable. One of the reasons to record codes, clear, see which come back- you want a nice stable code pattern.

So I ended up replacing the alternator with a brand new valeo 220a. Pita removing the unit, took me about 4hrs to complete the job. Fired it up and started as usual, cleared the codes and took it for a spin for a good few miles. Cel comes back and the usual hesitation, no difference but jus out a few hundred bucks.

One thing I wanted to point out is when i clear the faults via Carly, I then run the diagnostic check once again and notice a few faults I can’t seem to clear. The photos below shows the fault I can’t clear: Sorry for the large photos.

When the cel comes back after driving for a while, these are the new faults in addition to the ones that I can’t seem to clear. This is when the hesitation occurs upon acceleration: so sorry for the large photos..
