Left headlight not working...

Hi guys, 2007 X5 E70

I've searched and I've found people are mostly having problems with all the lights? I am just having a problem with the left headlight.

Would it possibly be the footwell module? How do I test if it is?

I plugged the left headlight into the right and it worked just fine...

Thanks

anyone know anything about this?

I know if I replace the Footwell Module, i'm going to have to re program it to my VIN but that seems like i shot in the dark.. how do I know that the module is the culprit.

It seems like there is one module that controls both headlights and other lights too.. so If the left isnt working and i plug it in the right side, that means the headlight assembly with ballast and bulbs are all fine...

So that means the "left side" of the module is bad?

Did you swap all the parts that are swappable so you can narrow it down?

Fuse? Also, use multimeter to check ohms/voltage to see if you're getting current flow.

I had a look at the fuses, but i'm not sure which is the fuse for the problem.. If you could point out the location and which fuse, I'd appreciate it.

I Had the same problem, and it required replacing the HID control unit ( the special ballast dedicated to the HID).

If fuse not blown, you will need to check the power then using multimeter.
