OEM Parts
Also if someone could give me recommendations on the best steering fluid, braking fluid, radiator fluid, coolant, etc. I want to get the best brands for my 4.8i to make sure it runs well. Last edited by adevster8; 09-14-2018 at 12:11 AM. |

I normally order OEM parts off fcpeuro.com or rmeuropean.com For Genuine part, I think ecstuning always has the best price

richevn nailed it on the sites.
As for fluids, my personal choice: Coolant- OEM blue Brake fluid- You can't go wrong with OEM. Most people do not push their X5s to the point where what brand brake fluid you use makes a difference. But being cheap enough, I prefer to use ATE Blue/ Amber fluid, or my recent experiment with Stoptech STR800 (i think this was the type). Both are great established brands and very affordable (I get mine from Tirerack) P/S Fluid- BMW Hydraulic fluid (CHF-11S... however, BMW's fluid is made by Pentosin, so as long as you get Pentosin CHF-11S-type fluid you'll be just fine) |

+1 ^^^
I have been doing business with Tischer for years and it's hard to beat their pricing, the only downside is the shipping cost if you live on the West Coast. Best to batch your orders up. The other go-to is oembimmerparts.com - Max has provided fantastic service, typically using drop-shipping parts arrive within 1-2 days on the West Coast. For E70s, parts are limited but I always check there first just based on how FAST things get to you. Pelicanparts is my backup. If you have an extensive project, price check things across several sites, sometimes Pelican comes up the cheapest. Also ships relatively fast on the West Coast. |

There are also things like tensioner pulleys where it is sometimes possible to get OEM pulleys without the tensioner. Even the parts suppliers don't normally offer this.
I have been working on this recently for the 4.8i which can safe a lot of money. I wonder how many e70 4.8i owners would be interested in a group buy... I need to look into the forum rules but I might set one up. -Rich |

Look up the part number on RealOEM, google search "BMW insertpart#" and check out the web results and shopping results. Lots of places to get different parts, I've never seen a blanket correlation to one shop always having the lowest price. Some vendors have appealing programs that add value to the $ you're spending, even if they don't have the lowest price. I've gotten my local dealer to pricematch a localish competitor's online listed price (even though their price clearly states mail order only).
