X5 35 d throwing new codes

Hi everyone. Have a 2011 x5 35d with 169,000 mile s and thanks to this forum have been able to solve a ton of issues. Recently had dpf and egr issues and addressed both to success! Now a new monster has reared its head and I can’t find any info. Engine went into limp mode today (engine operating at reduced power) and just happened to have my Carley with me .... codes new to me;

04F6F - high torsional vibrations/error hydra;ic pump

004BD9 - injector cylinder 6 control

Any idea or direction would be great;y appreciated😀

Not sure but I have a 2011 X5d so I read these threads with interest. At 138k miles, I've recently replaced the glow plugs and module, throttle/anti-shudder valve, engine coolant and transmission fluid thermostats, low-pressure EGR cooler, boost pressure sensor, EGR temperature sensor and MAFS. A couple of years ago at 118k miles ago, I replaced the active DEF tank, SCR dosing module and NOx sensors. Ive had no DPF issues to speak of.

Could it be a failed injector? Could the other code be a "knock" signal code?

Injector 6 could be corroded. Read all of this thread https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...ne-dies-3.html

Thank you for your thoughts - I feel very lucky to not have gone through what you have. Some of these codes are just clues and don’t point out the real issue right away. I thought about the injector but it doesn’t go into limp mode every time and when the “reduced power or limp mode” comes on you just shut the car off and turn it on again and power is restored until it decides to be a pain again... in any case I will search the injector symptoms - thanks

If you shut the car off the code reader will not pick them up - but if you read the codes with the car running in limp mode they can be cleared and the engine starts to run smooth and normal. So, yes, they come back when the car goes into limp mode but go away if you shut the car off and restart it

Just thinking out loud....

A diesel high pressure fuel pump, is running and pumping fluid under tremendous pressure into a dynamic system which has 6 'outlets' (fuel injectors)

As it runs, at speed, you get a nice rhythmic pulsing- fluid enters, fluid exits...everything is happy. Pump spins... every 40 usec a pulse happens.

But then one injector takes a crap. AS a result, the nice "every 40 usec" rhythm is interrupted.

Does this result in a odd 'torsional vibration' in that fuel pump??

Id replace #6.

Thank you - did you replace or clean it and did you do all injectors?
