2007 x5 Radiator Hose Question
I'm replacing one of the coolant hoses (part 17-127-537-108); checked in RealOEM and bought the part. When replacing, the hose that is currently in the car is different (WTH?), as it has an electrical connector I double checked with my VIN and still get the same part number The one ordered as per part number: ![]() The one that is on the car looks like the frontmost one on this picture (seems someone had this same issue....) - note the parts numbers are the same (?????) ![]() Has someone encounter this before? I can't find a new (or old) part number that matches the hose I have.....so if I use the new one, where does the electrical connector goes now???? Thanks

I don’t know why yet but you have a new version of the hose. The newer version eliminated the sensor.

I dunno, How is the new hose going to tell the car the sensor is no longer needed??
Could you just swap the old connector with the sensor plug onto the new hose?

Maybe do some research and find out if there are any open campaigns or recalls open on your vehicle, TSBs that discuss the change or go to the parts counter and talk to them.

So it seems the Hose was revised. Same part number though.
The new version does not have a slot for the Sensor (?) and when buying, you are supposed to buy a resistor that plugs into the Sensor (in other words, the sensor is now useless) to simulate an specific temperature. Went back to RealOem and effectively, there is a note in there that lists the resistor and a plastic tie (!) to secure it against the radiator. (there were two entries for the part so I missed the second entry ) RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog Quite a solution....but it is what it is.....will be curious to see how this was addressed in newer models but still Pre-LCI.

Strange. I ordered the hose from FCP just under a year ago and never knew there was a different hose. Mine came with the sensor location.

Hose was made to fit a number of different models. The "electrical connector" bit has an optional click fit cover. Depending on model this should be supplied with the hose.
Local parts guy told me all this and gave me the cover for free. Usual price is around $8. The old hose on my vehicle (2013 LCI model) had no optional connector/cover outlet.

Thanks all
Just to provide an update - - Installed the new Hose (that comes without a hole for the sensor) - fits perfectly - Bought the required "Resistance" part (at the Dealer) that connects to the electrical plug to "simulate" (=override) the old sensor; it comes with a small strap to attach the -now hanging there- stuff. ![]() So far, after -only- a few days of usage no alarms/issues, although I'm obviously surprised of the implicit recommended fix (e.g. "lets just override the sensor") in the upcoming Summer Weather.......
