Does E70 4.8L Have this module?

I think this is the reason why I cant clear the faults on the sunroof, backup battery discharge, energy saving mode active, and ac k-can failure from carly.

If not, which is the module that controls it? I'm guessing they are all controlled by the same module, no?

Ditto ard in regards to the module in your first post....it isn't legible...is it the JBE? If YOU can see the 11 digit BMW part number...you can type/paste that into the part number search box on one of the online part database sites to see which BMW models uses it (like www.realoem.com or BMWfans.info.

Looks like the AC's & sunroof's direct control modules (the "control center roof" & IHKA) are under the control of one of the major gateway modules...the JBE (junction box) module: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ronics/csgGD2D

Here's another link to info about the JBE: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ronics/XVDnMDM

The air conditioning/heating system's control module is the IHKA: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...rsion/GP9io2f2.

The sunroof (based on the wiring diagram from the TIS website) is under the control of the "control center, roof" (that big thing right in the front center of your headliner:

Ok, I see. Thank you anyway. I guess Ill just have to locate all the modules and test all the lines with a oscilloscope. I know I've got a bad line somewhere that's causing all the CAN faults on my car.

Check the JBE (you replied before I was finished with my reply...I was still searching for info). Go back and re-read and check the links and info in post #4...it has been edited and additional info and links added since your follow-up reply.

Im confused...why?

Becuase you cannot figure out how to (1) post a larger picture or (2) find the part number yourself or (3) tell us where that module was plucked from?

hint: BMW parts are xx xx x xxx xxx...11 digits...but often, the leave off the first 4..so you only will find x.xxx.xxx

I believe the jbe is also known as the body control module. I’m willing to bet this is the culprit after all that’s been tested on my vehicle. Do you know if this module is interchangeable if it’s from the same yr make and model? I want to avoid bmw at all cost because they will surely overcharge for programming. My x5 is a 2007 4.8l fully loaded with dual climate controls. I also found a module from a 2008 4.8L, also fully loaded with dual climate controls too.

Any of the online part database sites will give you the other BMW models and production date/build date range that uses the same part. Just enter the last 7 digits of your VIN...then go to the ELECTRONICS diagrams and look for the JBE (junction box electronics). Click on the 11 digit BMW part nbr and it will list all the other BMW models that use the same part...also look at the supplemental info column for the build date range, too. The part database site will also give you other part nbrs that were superseded and let you know if they are retroactively exchangeable or not.

Example using a generic X5 4.8:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=61359292706 (click this link to see what part nbrs you can search for)
