How much can a tune shorten DPF life?
The attraction of the D for me was the combination of torque & economy without the traditional pollution downsides of old school diesels. I’m interested in a tune to help me with towing, but am concerned it will significantly shorten the life of my DPF. I’m interested to hear if any one has experience with a tune and any noticed impacts on the health of the stock emissions system. Thanks |

If concerned about shortening the life of anything, maybe best to keep it stock. Or possibly do a trans tune to eliminate the most annoying part of these... the shift behaviors. That's my thinking though. I'd love a trans tune.
Though our X is still behaving at 165000 miles so it's easy to not jump on the delete band wagon. *fingers crossed* So far only emissions stuff to get replaced were EGR and both NOX sensors. Like you, I would also like to keep the complete system functioning as intended as the diesel smell would kill the car's appeal quite a bit.

Same line of thinking im in. I was really wanting to do the delete when I bought my 35d but stepped back a bit since my car is running great with the emissions stuff and a stage 1 tune. I already did xDelete and a trans tune is next, still on stock emissions components.

Would be nice if possible. At least to block off the EGR cooler and valve. I still need to pass visual and sniffer inspection here. |
