suspension upgrade or fresh? which options?
Hey guys, so last week I was cut off by some half blind lady in a mini van. It was the worst accident avoidance maneuver I've had to do since owning my X5. Complete all four wheel lock up and swerve.
Coincidentally that same week I had to tow my 16" side console fishing boat to the cottage 3.5 hours away. I'm not sure exactly when the damage occurred, but I most definitely having something going on with my suspension with one side lower and the ride is terrible. Bouncy and unstable. I'm looking at different options but don't really know where to start and could use some insight. A quick search for suspension refresh kits on google sent me to ECS tuning for their front and rear suspension refresh kit. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...1126863785kt2/ Would something like this be most likely what is required? Also, I noticed the passenger side rear corner when coming in or out of a slight incline, as strange noise like a spring popping. Perhaps I've broken a spring? I've look around as best I can, but can't notice any immediate damage. ![]() If I were to have to replace the springs, can anyone recommend a spring that provides a nice ride but that won't sag under tongue weight when I do have to tow occasionally? My x5 is non-third row seating. Thank you |
