indeed! How many miles on it? BMW recommends changing the oil every 16000 miles but there's no way you should do that. Every 5k at most. And don't use high mileage castrol. Only regular. I still use 5x30 full synthetic. The high mileage stuff I've heard can cause the seals to fail over time.

I change the oil myself, annually, as she never hits the mileage. I stick to Castrol or Mobil full synth of the correct specified weight, not too fussy, and never worry about it. BTW - in an interview with the guy who OWNS Blackstone Labs, he stated that he buys WHATEVER Oil is ON SALE, and just changes it as per the recommended interval. FWIW!
