Parking break error

My e70 of 2007 received the famous parking break error, the orange light in the dash board has lit on.
Brought the car to a Indy nr 1 that changed the small motor inside the EMF module. Took the car back and it still had the same problem. So I changed to another Indy, this Indy was a bit smarter then the previous Indy he changed the fuse that was probably burned, but now the car still has the orange parking break light on the dash board. But when I slowly drive the car and activate the parking break the car stops so it seems the parking break module is working because before it didn’t do nothing if you pressed the hand brake button. But the problem I have now is when the car is stopped and you want to activate the hand brake it doesn’t work, is it because the car still has the error code in the computer ?
Does someone know what I have to do? Or is it still the EMF module that is malfunctioning ?

I have the same problem. I tried replacing the switch, no help. I need to order the whole parking brake actuator assy. I would like to know if anyone has had luck with the rebuilt units off of ebay.

The rebuild units are around 400$ each and if you need to let a Indy do it they will charge you another 200-250$. I checked the price with the bmw dealer and it it will costs around 1400$ in totall for a new unit including installing it. So not taking the risk and wasting time on it

Before replacing the control unit and actuator, try reading and resetting the codes. Sometimes this will fix the issue. You'll need diagnostic software like ISTA.

When mine broke I bought a repair service on eBay for about $275. Included new cables installed and repaired the actuator error. Reinstalled myself and errors went away. Pretty easy fix.

The repair service is changing fuse , motor or cable.

I reset the codes and that fixed it. I am lucky I know, but just an FYI.
