Use one of the online part database sites to look up the 11 digit BMW part number(s) is used for your X5. Once you have the current BMW part number...you'll see other part nbrs that are retrospectively compatible...as well as what other BMW models used the same part (you do this by clicking on the part number).
You can determine which mirror you need by how your car is optioned. The database sites will list which options are required for each part number that is listed. If you don't know how your car is optioned...then here's a VIN decode site...it works the same way...just enter the last 7 digits of your VIN:

If you're not familiar with any online part database sites...see any of the 3 listed below:
- BMWfans.info
- Http://bimmercat.com
Doing a quick lookup...there are 9 mirrors...so without any car information (model/model year/VIN) you'll have to go into the database to determine which mirror and part number you'll need to search for. The link above the diagram below was from using a generic search for a X5 3.0 Euro market:
FYI...further down the 1st page is a thread titled homeliink/compass (the last post was made 1/12/20 by guzerzone)...that thread has an update/DIY on how to install an e92 Rearview mirror that has additional features...perhaps it can help if you can't find a plain rearview mirror without the DWA (red anti-theft status) LED.
