I purchased the manual and took an initial look. Seems like there are a lot more of those see section xxx in the sections for removal. So there will be a lot of skipping around if if need a DIY step by step. However, the search function will be very helpful for that. Thanks for the help!

I didn’t see a manual at the link he posted.... more like a page of many links, like a hundred or so, e53, e70, etc etc.

What did you actually buy? Is it newtis just translated into a pdf?

Click on the link for the year of your X5 and it takes you to purchase point. In my case I went to 2013 X5 for my X5M. https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail....epair?a=506906. After purchasing the manual I found that it is for multiple years which means there will likely be some information that doesn't apply to 2013 models. I haven't found what they have done to cover those situations, assuming that is the case.

The problem is that these 'homemade' compendiums of info scraped off of newtis.info (or other BMW TIS sources) lake the assurance they are correct!

If you look up a torque value on a tradebit/"repairmanualnow" sourced manual, can you be 100% sure it is accurate????

IMO...no good solution, since BMW went to the TIS system....

As has been posted-better then nothing at all. Not really concerned with things like torque specs because I can check them in disassembly. Or, I can call the tech I know at the dealer to be sure. Or, apply the good ol' days method. If I can take it apart I can put it back together. Write down what I did so I can I have it for the future and reassembly. Plus, have someone working with me, the two heads are better than one thing. And cheat and use new technology (iPhone) to take pictures as I go.
