Teufelhunden71 is on a distinguished road
This happened in my 2013 x5d last year.

Problem: Head unit died.

Bought a used one off ebay, installed it myself and it worked for the most part (navigation would not work, radio would, etc.)

Problem is the head unit came from another x5, and it was coded to that x5's VIN. So, I took it to a local bmw indy and they coded it to my x5. Now everything works as it should.
