SOS Warning + No Display
Tried the 3 finger salute, holding CD+DVD+Volume, to reboot and that did nothing. Will be checking fuses when she gets home today. Last night I scanned for codes and it looks like I have lost all connectivity to anything related to comm. No comm with audio sys: S 0067 No comm with ULF-SBX: S 0112 No comm with Sat: S 0162 No comm with TCU: S 0195 No comm with Aerial: S 0374 No comm with Headunit: S 0375 No comm with MOST: S 0376 MOSTSYS:No comm: 00FFF1 I don't see where anyone has reported back here or here or here. After pulling the fuse tonight I'll have to do more reading but at this point I would have to guess the head unit or TCU will need to be repaired. Any one else dealt with complete comm loss? One post above mentioned CAN & MOST bus manuals for reading but those links are dead. If you've had one rebuilt/repaired where have you sent yours? Were you happy with the results?

This happened in my 2013 x5d last year.
Problem: Head unit died. Bought a used one off ebay, installed it myself and it worked for the most part (navigation would not work, radio would, etc.) Problem is the head unit came from another x5, and it was coded to that x5's VIN. So, I took it to a local bmw indy and they coded it to my x5. Now everything works as it should. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk |

Nope Not expecting you to be able to guarantee my predicament at all. I'm in the exploratory phase gathering facts. But what I've read coincides with your experience as well.
I'm fully accepting that I will be replacing something that isn't trivial.

You know about www.newtis.info, yes?
Check all fuses to the differnt components. If blown replace. If it reblows, try to isolate to the one bad component that is supplied by that fuse. Don’t assume anything. Once you ID the bad module, remove and re[power. (To confirm) Haven’t spent much time in that area, but there seems to be a few things (‘head’ unit included) that might take out a fuse and shut down everything.... And hey, maybe you will be one of those that closes the loop! GL Last edited by ard; 07-24-2020 at 06:08 PM. |

Thanks Ard. I have ISTA/D but was not aware of newtis. Looking through that now
I'm in the process of working through the potential fuses this evening. I did find it odd that all comm to the other components fails when just one unit should be out. You would think it would be a power supply to all the components for that reason. But this is my first time working through this system. Maybe all comms do channel through the head unit. I'll find out. Not leaving any stone unturned.

I think you have a bad CCC i-drive head unit. I-drive is the gateway for all Most components, Sat, TCU, MULF. No image on screen points to issue with head unit rather than a break in the Most series connection. No comm with aerial also points to issue with head unit.

Hi B.matt,
Yes. It would appear the recommendations here were spot on. My CCC has failed. I checked on getting it repaired and found one very reputable place in Romania that can repair them for considerably less than others. Unfortunately I found that while I would be able to ship it to them in a timely manner, and they would be able to repair it and turn it around in 3 days IIRC, shipments from Romania, and most of Europe, TO the USA are delayed indefinitely until further notice. For that reason I sourced a used one from ebay. I have replaced the CCC, it takes only a few minutes, but have not had the time to properly code it. Have purchased the software and was actually going to begin installation of the coding software on my laptop tonight. I have never coded BMW files before so I will be taking me time to makes sure I don't do anything stupid or irreversible. I still plan to send my original CCC for repair once shipments from EU to USA have normalized. I was waiting to report back once I actually had the new (used) unit fully operational. Sorry for your luck.
