E70 X5 Windshield Wiper nut
I unscrewed it to replace the center engine partition but dropped the nut and can't find it anymore. This is for a 2012 X5M. But I think the windshield wiper should be the same standard equipment on all the E70 models. Much obliged! Theo

I cracked open the brace plate under the engine to see if I can find it, and actually found oil dripping from one end of the oil pan. I'm not sure if it's a bad oil pan gasket or if the oil actually originates higher up from the oil pan. Any ideas?

I'd hesitate to guess on the oil leak, could be anything. And some of the stories I've heard about oil leak sources on that engine will scare you, so... yeah. It's one of the reasons I have never looked for an X5M.

After careful tracing of the leak, we believe the rear end seal and upper rear end coolant cover cap are the most likely culprits. There's a SIB on these 2 parts. I'll call the local dealership to see if they can do the work as a warranty job.
Other than this little drop of oil the car has been running great. Took care of the annoying rattle on the back by cushioning and tightening the hatch latch. No more sound and the E70 is a quieter and smoother highway cruiser compared to the E53 4.6is.
