Congrats! I just bought a 2012 35i (white/tan) equipped very similarly, with 73k miles. Prepping the e53 for sale. Looking forward to driving it. Happy with the 6...

I drove the 35i, and it performed amazingly. I would not have shed a tear if we ended up with the N55: amazing motor and far less parts to break (though just thinking of the water pump gives me PTSD).

I think things just work how they are supposed to. My X5 "found me". It was nowhere on my radar I just bumped into it on the auction lot.

I was ready to put down payment on 2013 35i but somebody beat me to it. Two days later I test drove the new Lumba N° 2.

I drove my car (3.0i 2001) to Chicago today and I had a good laugh up the onramp. 15 hours earlier i had to lay off the throttle to stay under 3 digits and this time full throttle did get me to 80 but took the full onramp.

Didn't really bother me at all. I'm ok with even the M54 in the E53. One of the best pairs in motoring history.
