Thoughts on alignment readout (attached)

Hello! Battling alignment issues. Previously vehicle was pulling to the right, but now it's pulling to the left. I'm looking at the toe (pic attached) and right front went from 0.43 to 0.12 and left front from -0.10 to 0.12. I understand the need to make them even and ever so slightly go out, but now the car is pulling to the left.

The toe needs to be symmetrical and slightly toe in. I've used as much as 0.15° which will wear your tires pretty fast but makes for very stable ride.

Now mine are almost no toe and I will get a little shimmy or tramline depending on road conditions but my tires are wearing more evenly than they ever have.

Too much toe. You want 0.02 toe in, all 4 wheels

I'll tell this to Belle Tire. Hopefully they won't laugh me out of there. How do I overcome their objection that it's outside of the BMW specs for e70?

It's your vehicle and you want to pay them to provide a service. You want to maximize tire wear. The real question is why do they think it's a problem. If it's just a policy, find somewhere else. On the other hand, you might be able to talk to someone there who knows what they're talking about and make them come around.

Hmm. Did you read the thread?

Handing them 'some pages from an online forum' is a losing proposition. They really dont care, they arent going to 'do the work'...and notably they are trained to think 'people on the internet are idiots'. (many are)

YOU need to establish your own authority... once you know what you are doing, and feel comfortable demanding what YOU want, then tell them. Dont hand them posts.

Here, let me help. This is from the current BMW TIS, so this is what BMW publishes. Not sure where that page you have comes from. (actually it is from the vendor of the alignment machine, and they will claim "oh this is from BMW factory". They are wrong...)

So you see that toe spec??

.14 +/- .12.... this means .02 up to .26

14 minus 12 is 2
14 plus 12 is 26

https://xoutpost.com/attachment.php?...1&d=1639291003

So my recommendation is, in fact, technically within the BMW spec! Crazy, eh?

Thank you, Adam. That's what my post was getting to. I don't think asking for the "minimum" toe that we want is anything special.

OP, make your shop tell you why it's such a big ask for them to do what you want and then proceed from there. Maybe they're just lazy.
