Unable to pop hood driver's side

Sorry for delay. I found a nearly perfect rod to do the demo but I'm still barely recovering from omicron (oh yay).

I was able to get it with a thin fiberglass rod from a toy kite.

The trick is when the hood is down the "u" shape bar that goes in the latch blocks the access to the unlatch mechanism. If you use a metal rod and can put a leftward and downward bend at the end it will probably be easier.

Took seconds to work it out when open about 60-90 seconds to get it open with the hood latched (do to u-bar).
