Some models there was a valvetronic motor that could be easily damaged- after a gasket job all sort siht hit the fan...
Thats always a possibility, i guess. But to me, if i screwed up an injector, i'd should be getting that code. If I didn't tighten a fuel line tight enough, it'd be leaking. I did cracked that little egr/oil separator thingy and did get a code on it; replaced it and code went away.
