I replaced the pump n thermostat on my e70 (n55) also customer's e90. The E90 was the worst job the e70 was 1/3 the difficultly.

It seems ok, definitely some knuckle scratching and wild coolant drip, I was hoping to avoid all this as a shop changed my water pump like 5 years ago. they prob used an aftermarket and only changed the pump.

Wow ok what’s this now. So this coolant hose coming out of the engine collapsed and disconnected with just a little tug-shaking around.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...rWkiCx4FIrOsW-

Obviously I have a large band aid on my hand as seen in pics and it burns but I was trying to see temperature differences in hoses when engine was off.

It looks like this hose might have been leaking some AIR IN (?). That could explain the thermostat issue we went through above.

That looks like the hose rubber just ripped off, right?

Ps. Getting ready to explain band aid to the lady.. wish me luck.

Also, the caking of coolant in the interior circumference of the hose and engine outlet... That’s fairly normal amount after all these years right?

Thank you hope the final solution is not as standard as water pump and temp again. )

If it's what I think it's a known problem with a plastic hose fitting. I think you can get a metal one.

If that was leaking like it seems it would you'd be leaving a trail of coolant behind and topping off daily (before the break).

Get that fixed and you really should vacuum fill the coolant. I think I paid $70 for a very nice kit.

There is a chance this caused your issue but just a chance.

You rock, thank you.
Yeah that thing is in my amazon cart now so once i get all hoses tight I will pressure test.

Adventures continue

I don't see any coolant pump codes.
Your 119C radiator outlet temp is VERY high.
Outlet temp should be much closer to air temp, particularly after a drive at highway speeds.
If your radiator has the same deposits as the id of the hose, it won't be able to properly cool and will overheat. Deposits show someone has been using hard tap or well water rather than distilled water.
Loss of air flow will also cause high outlet temp.
Usually when all flow is blocked to radiator, due to no circulation the radiator outlet temp is close to ambient temp.
When you run the bleed sequence, do you see flow in expansion tank?

I do and it seems to flow fine.
So you are thinking radiator is plugged up?

BMW X7 E70 2007 only over heats if heater not at maximum 84 and max fan

I had no pump codes until it failed completely. You need to read the pump speed real-time to know if it's working.

Blocked radiator does fit the symptoms but so does coolant pump intermittent.
