So, I don't see where you are seeing a "price drop."
I'm definitely NOT confused, I'm merely filtering the info posted here. If you're a member (not pointing you out, just an example) here with less than 30 post and suddenly say that the price is this or that, I won't believe it unless you're a "really reliable source" or have proof to back it up...

That's one issue with a public forum you'll need to take everything with grain of salt... It's like having a group of guys who know each other talking loudly in a public place about the new X5 and suddenly a guy comes out of nowhere and say's oh yeah the price is this... Would you believe it????

I understand where you are coming from.

I am legitimate, though... I have 4000+ posts at bimmerfest.com, and I'm one of the dealer regulars there. If you take a look over there, you'll see that I'm not a newcomer to the BMW scene, just this forum.

You don't have to believe me, but I can assure you that when you do finally see the price sheets, they will show the same number that I posted.
Sarafil, that's a really good price if true. Right now it's unverified info and will stay the same until confirmed. No intentions of offending you.

Cool, we're just used to seeing Jon here sharing that info (via link URL back to bimmerfest) showing the actual price list.

BMW released a bulletin to dealers today at the same time that they release the Press Release that gave out some basic introductory material and base prices.

When I get the price lists (should be within the next few days), I'll post the full sheets here.

(P.S. If you need a reference for me, feel free to ask Jon... he's known me for a while)

BMW like every car maker sand bags us on power, it costs little to nothing more to make a v8 as compared to a I6. The combustion engine has been mastered for half a century.

Sarafil, the only relevant questions here are these:

1) What discount can you get me off of MSRP?
2) How do I jump to the top of your waiting list? &
3) What wil you give me on my '04 4.4 trade?

Another Category Five in the Gulf (let's hope not) and longer than expected Alaskan pipeline repair will do wonders for MSRP pricing...I suspect an E70/4.8 nicely optioned will be an easy $66K.

It's going to be hard to find a E70 4.8 at the base price... The dealers are going to pack all the cars with all the options...
