What's all this about having to wait a year or more? That's crazy. I live in New Jersey as well and my thinking is the car will be available late 2006... Ordering times shouldn't exceed 3 months and stock will start hitting dealers in October/November so unless you need the super spec'd out version... WHat's the problemo?

The E70 will be on allocation when it goes on sale in late November. What dealers who are taking deposits now are doing is lining up names against order slots, not actual vehicles.

I placed my deposit on 12th May in the UK and I have an estimated delivery of May 2007.

Hi, new to forum and on my second 3.0d Sport X5. Went into the dealer on saturday to place a deposit on an E70 . Dealer already had my name on the waiting list but needed a proper order. We're after a 'Sport' model but only information out in the UK is on the SE model , however even if we went for an SE the delivery date is...

Dec 2008 !

So we've placed an order and hope someone drops out/changes mind/gives up in the meantime. The only good news is that the 'Sport' pack will be properly defined by then and the much rumoured V8 diesel could make its appearnce!

Great site by the way , actually used it at the dealership to show them more pics!!

Stu

Oh and the Germany/UK thing taking a little longer makes sense since this vehicle is built in South Carolina,USA and is the exact opposite of most BMW's... the shipments and fulfillment will take a bit longer. But 12 months? From today maybe but don't see it taking that long either.

Wow, with all these pre-orders for 5000lb road monsters from places where they have $1.50L gasoline....wonder if the guys from XOM and BP are thinking of jacking our prices up...I can just hear the futures guys in London; "Aayyy, those Yanks, ridin' our coattails with thaar cheap petrol---time to take the mickey out them..."
