No manual gearbox.....so why the clutch pedal pad in Accessories brochure???

Why are the stainless steel/rubber sport pedal pads available for both the manual gearbox and the auto gearbox if the E70 does not even come with a manual gearbox. Is BMW maybe thinking of releasing a manual later on? See the picture below and the blurred out text next to it (maybe Lemans can post a better pic, but even with the blurred one I think I can read the words "manual gearbox" in the third line):

Looks like BMW forgot to take it out??

I remember when we got our E92 brochure, they accidently included a page of technical specs in metric/european data.

It's just that why would they forget to take it out if it wasn't supposed to be there in the first place? I can understand them leaving in metric data when starting from a European brochure and changing it over to a US one, but it's not like the European E70 has manual and the US one doesn't. I have not seen any references to a manual gearbox associated with the E70 so far.

Ok. I took the pic again and uploaded. Refresh your page if you still see blurry pic. It does say vehicles with manual gearbox.

Thanks for taking the picture again. So what do you guys think? I don't think BMW would make that big of a mistake to include this in the official accessories catalog if they were not going to come up with a manual gearbox for the E70. Who knows? One thing is for sure, if they do ever offer a manual gearbox the shifter would need to be a really short throw shifter. Looking at the picture below I think it's possible to do it with a short throw shifter and/or a slightly rearranged console (maybe with a smaller storage area).

Whether they offer manual or not does not impact us directly if and when we replace my wife's E53 with an E70 because we would be getting the Automatic. However, it's the idea of BMW not offering a manual on a model that used to have it that bothers me. I would not want to see it become a trend and spread to other BMW models.

BMW is going the MB road where the vast majority of their higher end non-M vehicles are automatics or versions of. Simply because most (sorry fellas) prefer an automatic in a luxury vehicle. My only worry is when they attempt to offer M cars with only slushboxes or SlowlyMovingGear boxes
