" I checked on the X5 this morning and it looks like it will be here next week. I figure BMW will give us some better lease rates pretty soon as everybody has recognized that the numbers that are currently out there are pretty ridiculous. I'll touch base with you by the end of the week to give you another update. " |

Yeah this always happens with a new car, they simply do not provide an incentive on the lease=higher payment

Here are the December Lease Rates for the new X5.
2007 BMW X5 4dr Wagon 3.0si / Compare Instant Lease Quotes 24 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 69% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate 36 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 58% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate 48 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 41% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate 60 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 33% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate 2007 BMW X5 4dr Wagon 4.8i / Compare Instant Lease Quotes 24 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 64% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate 36 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 53% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate 48 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 37% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate 60 mo/15k mi – Residual Value 30% of MSRP – .00322 Base Money Factor Rate With these rates on an X5 3.0si with Prem, Cold Weather, Rear Clim, Tech Pkg and Sat Radio, MSRP $55340 and no discount, I get 36m/15k yr at $927w/o tax and 24m/15k yr at $1015. I have an 06 3.0 with PP, CW, RC, Auto, Heated rear, heated wheel that is only $660/mo w/7.5% tax. I would have a hard time swallowing that kind of lease pmt difference to step into a new one. Without a single option, it is still in the $780 range w/o tax.

bmw is banking on the "got have it now" / "1st guy on the block" individuals. in 3 months the lease payments will go down $300++. this happens will all new cars.
my wife looked at the 530i sport pkg'd wagon when they 1st arrived to the dealers... $1,200 per month for a 36 mo lease. 6 months later high $700's. |
