love the interior color... this would be my choice as well but... i'm surprised the carpets aren't black.

i would have to select black mats.

BMW's standard black or beige or grey interiors are so boring and common that frankly I've been sick of them for years. Unfortunately the really great color combos stay in Europe and never made it here in the past. Finally with the E53 X5 BMW scored an A+++ with the Truffle Brown interior IMHO and I was keeping my fingers crossed for the same A+++ with the tobacco in the new X5 (because the other options are back to the usual boring group). Sadly this hasn't happened. I hear that the Saddle brown interior that is only available in Canada might be spectacular...can't wait to see it in person. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
Honestly I suppest you see the Tobacco before passing judgement. I feel the same way you do about the colors, I was trying to decide on black or tobacco. I got to spend about 30 min or so in a 3.0 with tobacco, and I will be ordering the tobacco! It is a very different color in person.

I hope your right about it being different in person. The photos look like a shade of burgundy that resembles vomit. And the fact that so much of the interior is that color makes it even less attractive in the photos. The E53 truffle interior was the best because BMW did not overdue the color all over the place (like on plastic parts that would end up looking cheap). It is only on the leather seats and the leather door panels. The effect is awesome. Even if the tobacco looks better in person, the fact that it is on everything bothers the hell out of me.
