I was recently at bmw autohaus in toronto with a friend who purchased an '07 X5 4.8i (white). We drove to 3 different dealerships that day and all except bmwautohaus were NOT willing to negotiate much on msrp. bmw maranello only offered $500 off msrp! LOL
The fact is the 07 X5's are in high demand, especially the 4.8i. You can, with patients and good negotiations, get enough off msrp to satisfy you. We negotiated a before tax price of $86,000 (fully loaded minus rear climate package and 3rd row seats). Came out to just under $99,000 out the door. This also includes the 4year tire warrenty (msrp $800). Because all 07 X5's have run flat tires it makes sense to get the warrenty because replacing a single run flat tire on the 07 X5 will cost you close to a G-note.
If the salesperson will not negotiate at all, quickly laugh and walk out the door! I know the saleguys at bmw maranello feels crappy now cause he lost a sale!
best bet is to go into the dealership an hour or so before they close! On a friday/saturday no less! i dunno if that did us any good but the salesguy seems more willing to run back and forth between us and the manager to get a price we were willing to sign on.
best of luck!
