No Temp Gauge?

I don't think moving the red line on the tack is as helpful.

I know that on the 335I they have put back the temp gauge and droped the mpg gauge.

I agree, 5000 RPM on a cold engine is crazy. According to xx3's post above it starts at at around 3000 RPM when cold so it's workable.

Actually, that's a buffered oil temp gauge.

Why couldn't BMW just stuck with the previous traditional gauges? They've worked well for decades and provided the information needed. I want the speedo, tach, instant fuel consumption, water temp, and fuel gauges. A variable redline is nice but not necessary.
