No Temp Gauge?

The e70 looks nice but why no engine temperature gauge?

Guess its cost to much to put on a BMW;)

Too good to overheat and strong enough to get humped from the first turn of the key ???

The springs around the tach guys is why there is no more temp. It shows you how high you can be revving the engine at the current temp...

There are a number of posts on this subject including 1 from me that you should read. There does seem to be a temp. guage of sorts. The small lines right above the redline area of the tachometer seem to serve as a temp. guage because when the engine is cold the lines are spread out like an uncoiled spring all the way down to 5000 RPM. So redline is limited to whatever RPM is indicated by these lines and as the motor warms up the lines compress down and end up sitting right against the redline area when fully warmed up. I have no experience with this as I have not taken delivery of my X5 yet but this is what's been described in other posts.

Rabbit,
OPs above, quoted their own thread(s), with the topic well covered;
do a little library work, use the Search Tab, and you'll be well versed
in the temp gauge issue and other good info.

My opin: a little reading beats a lot of "posting".

i don't know what spring they are talking about...it's also mentioned in trueX5er's thread about his delivery too, but there's no clear picture of it

It's an unfortunate trend with modern BMWs. Deal with it.
