Has iDrive haptic feedback been eliminated?

There is a current discussion on e90post.com about the haptic feedback...aka the vibration on the iDrive knob, and how it's been eliminated with the new version of iDrive...

has anyone noticed this on the 2007 e70s?

I wouldnt even know how to begin to describe what mine does.

It spins freely when you are moving thru menus...when you get to the end of choices it stops, and at times it clicks thru, for example when scrolling thru phone book, which has several thousand names. It will scroll to end of visable page then start clicking thru selections on the next pages.

btw- the "clicking" is a tacticle click
