I wouldnt even know how to begin to describe what mine does.
It spins freely when you are moving thru menus...when you get to the end of choices it stops, and at times it clicks thru, for example when scrolling thru phone book, which has several thousand names. It will scroll to end of visable page then start clicking thru selections on the next pages. btw- the "clicking" is a tacticle click

Yea a haptic sense...meaning the wheel vibrates with each selection
