Lowering E70 3.0

Hi everyone. I am new to here and this is my first X. Just a couple of question.

Does anyone already lower their E70 yet? I am just wondering which springs is better. H&R, Eibach etc.

Also how come some of the 3.0 has printed front grill (not kiddney grill) but others doesn't. Is it because of sport package does come with printed front grill?

is that supposed to say "painted" front grill...? I think the 3.0's without sport package have black plastic instead of chrome in the inserts of the grill (lines going down the kidneys...)

:welcome:Stan,

Welcome to X5 World. I can't speak to lowering, but there is a pic you can search that shows the Dinan kit. Personally, I like the height, but then if I want to ride low I take my Z4.

On the grille colour, in North America the 3.0si is black and the 4.8i has a "titanium coloured" grille. That applies to both the verticals in the kidney grille and the mesh below. In Europe, the 3.0d has the "titanium coloured" grille and mesh. If it is anything like the kits on the E53 it should be relatively easy to paint yourself.

I'm just curious why anyone would buy an SUV and then want to lower it?? Unless you're towing wouldn't a 5 series wagon or something like that be a better choice? It's an inherently better handling car and offers just as much space. It can't go offroad but neither can a slammed SUV.

I understand it might look cool but it has always struck me as incongruous. Is it just the style thing?
