E70 Nuances.....

I've noticed some peculiar nuances with my new E70...

Since having the vehicle and adjusting the steering wheel when driving, I noticed that when I shut the vehicle off, the steering wheel automatically raises to make exiting the vehicle easier. When I get back in the car and restart, sometimes the steering wheel returns to the previously set position and sometimes it doesn't??

Something that has occured recently...the passenger side mirror had adusted down when the car is put in reverse, it has recently stopped doing that??

Is there some "personal setting" or memory function that I am not aware of that is controlling these functions?

Have you got the switch pointing to the driver's side door mirror? - if not the tilt is deactivated

so the switch that controls the electric mirrors determines if the reverse mirror tilt function works or not? i'll give it a try later.

thanks.

The above is correct, if you have toggled the switch for mirror control over to passenger, it will not allow the mirror to move. Also, make sure you did not adjust the steering wheel to the full up position, if you did, the steering wheel will not move.

Many have commented on the sterring wheel issue. I have already had my e70 4.8 in for that problem. They were not able to fix it and will have to try again. They re-programmed all keys for the vehicle even though I had only used one key from delivery. Have some other i-drive related bugs as well.

no way they're not able to fix it... i had a similar problem on my e53, and my dealership was able to fix it easily.

I had the same problem earlier and based on previous posts here, the culprit is when you turn off the engine and forget to lock using the same remote you used previously. I tried to make sure that I always lock my X5 with the same remote I last used and it now always remember the steering, seat memory position and some other settings associated with the remote. Hope this will help you guys!
