But doesn't the standard X5 have those already? I guess they just stick out a little more? Looking at some pictures I've seen on here of people with the areo kit, I'm having a hard time seeing a difference in the arches compared to stock E70's...

From what I understand: The 4.8 with 20" has flared fenders and different wheel arches. The 3.0's fenders are flat. Maybe the flared fender and wheel arches are the same thing though...

I think you're right. Just looked at some 3.0 pics and it looks like the actual fenders are the same (the sheet metal), but the plastic arches/flares... on the 3.0 do look to be flush with the metal and flat, where the 4.8i plastic arches look like they flare out a little, which would make sense as to why they'd be included in the aero kit.

I saw a 3.0 in a parking garage when I left work yesterday and you were right, the 3.0 (not sure if there's a difference between 3.0 and 3.0si as far as this is concerned) has the black plastic wheel arches going straight down, not flared out like the 4.8i and like the aero kit suggests. The fenders are not any different, that is sheet metal and will not change from the aero kit, it's part of the rear quarter panel. The "flared fenders" that the kit refers to must be the plastic arches that are flared out instead of flat.

That would be great, thanks! I'm trying to decide if I really need a tow hitch. If not, I may go with the aero kit (can't have hitch with the kit..).
