I called the 800# again and this time got a little more information from a rep. They told me they didn't have access to the actual status codes (told me status but didn't have associated code). My car hasn't yet been scheduled to hit the line, but somehow has an estimated completion date of "Week 19 (May 9 - 14th)." Seems odd that they have an estimated completion date without a start date, but I guess they don't assign the start date till it actually starts?

That's normal -- or at least that's what happened to me. I was given the assigned build week (Week 15 in my case) long before my car went on the assembly line. I believe that means you're in Status 112, "Order Scheduled for Production" and you can no longer make any changes to the order. Even though I was scheduled for Week 15 (April 9-13, this week) my X5 began production on March 29 and was complete as of this Monday, April 9. So yours may move along pretty quickly now!

That's where I'm confused. The status they give on the automated phone system says "Scheduled for Production without a confirmed production date," the word scheduled makes it sound like a status 112. But then, when I talk to the reps they say the "order has been accepted, but is not yet scheduled for production....," and yet "has an estimated completion date of week 19...." seems like there has to be an estimated start date to have an estimated completion date.

I know it sounds that way, but that's exactly what happened to me; I was given a build week long before the car went into production. There may be a projected start date used internally; they just don't tell the customer. One day I spoke with a rep on the 800 # and was told that I was "scheduled for production" with the build week; the next day I was on the phone with my CA (about something else) and during the call I was told "Guess what? Your X5 went into production today."

Call your CA, who can tell you immediately (or as fast as he can look up your order on the computer) what the status is.

(I still have no idea when I'll actually see mine... )

Same here, It looks like the production date is just an estimate. I was given a production date of 3rd week April, the 800# gave a build date start of April 10 but it was done by April 5th. So now I am waiting....

Ok, so I just talked to customer service and found out that the estimated production date is the week it's estimated to start AND finish. The first rep told me it was the estimated date of completion, but didn't mention that the production cycle only takes 3 days, so start/finish is the same week....... My "estimated production week" is week 19 (May 9-14). So I guess I either didn't get the "April Production" that my dealer told me I was getting, or it got pushed back.

Hmm. Mine went into production on 3/29, a Thursday, but wasn't completed until Monday 4/9. So it was definitely "in production" longer than 3 days. I'm assuming from your post that your X5 hasn't started production yet; when it does, I'd be interested in how long it takes to complete.

Unfortunately the earliest date they could give me for PCD is after Memorial Day... So my now-complete X5 will be sitting around for more than another month before I see it.

PCD is the delivery at the factory, right? Thats the only reason you're waiting that much longer?

The guy told me it only takes 3 or 4 days to go through the cycle (depending on what time during the first day it starts). I had thought I heard more like 2 weeks, but that's what he said. I wonder if yours was just against the norm, but I'll let you know once mine goes in how long it takes.
