Do you mean the factory DVD changer that ties in with the center console monitor or the dvd changer for the idrive Navigation DVD?

My guess is that he is referring to the 6-disc DVD changer (that used to be a 6 disc CD changer) that is in the glovebox, that I believe is only connected to the i-drive screen and not the rear console screen, though I can't say for certain since I don't have an E70. I thought/think the factory DVD player that is under the rear center console screen is only a single player and not a changer, though again I could be wrong...it's happened once or twice in my lifetime.

If the iDrive DVD changer is connected to the INViSiON system it should work, however, last time I checked the iDrive did not play DVD's but only the Navigation DVD-Based DVD. Also I know for a fact it is a federal violation to play DVD's in the front monitor while the car is in Drive. It should only play dvd's while the car is in park. If it even plays dvd's at all.

There is an i-drive DVD player that is exclusively for the nav system in the center console. See 1st photo with red arrows pointing to "DVD" and the eject button. And there is a separate DVD changer (formerly CD changer) in the glovebox. See 2nd photo. Now my speculation is that the glovebox DVD changer outputs to the nav display and not the rear console screen. Assuming that statement is correct, I think the guy's original question was can that glovebox changer output to an Invision headrest setup instead of the nav screen, or perhaps in addition to the nav screen. Interesting question.

Well if the NAV DVD player only plays in "Park" then that would defeat the purpose, however, considering that my products have both RCA and USB inputs on either screen anything that can successfully transmit to these 2 types of inputs will play on my system.

SO I will answer this question with another question...

Can the DVD player, in question, transmit out via RCA cables or USB and if so, your answer is yes!

Just trying to help out. I don't know about the outputs of the glovebox DVD changer, but I'll say this much, I don't see the point of it outputting to a rear DVD headrest since #1. to which of the two headrests would it output to? A, B or both, and #2 then you'd have to select the output as either from the DVD player in the headrest itself or the glovebox changer and then have to pick one of the 6 movies. Given that you can connect RCA and USB already to those units, this just seems like a slight case of overkill (and I am totally exaggerating here).

On second thought, nope it's not overkill and I have a question, if I install a tv tuner and use a converter to allow it to work after June (or whenever the hell the next 'deadline' will expire) will your setup allow me to use it as a DVR so that I can pause live tv? And please don't forget that I will want to record (on DVD no less) a show that might come on that I like, Matlock or TJ Hooker come to mind. And I presume your DVD burner will have lightscribe functionality, correct?

BTW, I know blu-ray won, but I invested heavily in HD-DVD technology. Will your next gen player be able to read my 3,000 HD-DVD disks?

Ok I was going to bust you on the whole TV Tuner with DTV Transition but you beat me to the punch. SO I will answer your question with, yet another question.

If you are installing a TV Tuner into the vehicle and hook a DTV Compliant tuner box up to that you do realize that you are still receiving signal via Rabbit ears. So Logistically speaking, why in the hell would you want to record a show with static and snow all in it, especially on a lightscribe burner knowing that those discs cost way more than a Memorex "El Cheapo", I mean, come on, in a moving vehicle you already can't lock in a good signal due to the interference from the all the buildings around with different wavelength frequencies bouncing everywhere and also you are contantly changing direction and position? (I'm out of breath)

X5Meister...PLease just Buy the TJ hooker DVD set, I can get you a great deal on Amazon.com...LOL

No seriously talk about overkill, if you want to go that route and connect a DVR Box and DVD Burnr to it, i know that you already know the answer...it will record anything sent through the DVR box and into the lightscribe...Lord Vader! Right? This does make sense.

By the way, since I DO NOT have DVR capabilities with my product, you will have to supply the DVR box yourself.

Guess you need to buy an Xbox 360 and an HD-DVD player.

No seriously an Automotive Grade Tri-Read DVD Loader in in development by a few different companies. Whether we go Tri-Read (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray/DVD)or Dual-Read (Blu-Ray / DVD) is way up in the air. But it is something that is being considered. Thanks. You'll know after I do.
